Aux Artistes holds along history throughout the last century. This is not immediately reflected in the very basic interior - almost a bit dirty in the slightly charming Parisian way - but the place does not just reflect history, it lives history. Placed around Montparnasse in a small side street, the place remains highly popular and attracts a local crowd filling out the place at all days. This is partly a function of the very good price-value ratio - the food is really cheap - but the restaurant excels in the classical French bistro kitchen.
